Truemors

Okay, this fall in 5433 there should be an information entrepreneurship track, and we’ll definitely be talking about Guy Kawasaki’s latest dotcom venture. Truemors reminds me somewhat of Pud Kaplan’s original dotcom startup, which was also a rumor-based site (specifically, about dotcoms in trouble, how’s that for both prescience and parody?) 5433ers should know that Kaplan was a senior at the SU School of Information Studies back in 1996 (I was a TA for the capstone class he took with then-dean Ray von Dran, and I don’t remember whether he got an A or not — my guess is *not*!), and the CEO of his own dotcom just a few years later. So, yes, a good idea probably *would* be worth that $12,000 investment…..
